The Best Vegan BBQ Sauce
Homemade vegan BBQ sauce is super easy to make and way better than store-bought! This recipe whips up in minutes using just a handful of ingredients. Bonus: it's freezer-friendly, so you can have some on hand at all times!

Ingredients

whiskey
(can substitute with water)

organic brown sugar

vegan Worcestershire sauce

tablespoons
unsulfured molasses

tomato paste

onion powder

teaspoon
garlic powder

teaspoon
smoked paprika

cayenne pepper

salt,
plus more to taste

black pepper,
plus more to taste

Instructions
Stir all ingredients together in a medium saucepan and set it over medium heat.
Bring the mixture to a low boil, and lower the heat to a simmer.
Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring or whisking occasionally, until it reaches your desired level of thickness.
Remove the pot from heat, taste-test and season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Adjust any other seasonings to your liking.
Allow the sauce to cool.
Use it immediately, or store in a sealed container in the refrigerator or freezer.
Notes
This recipe makes about 2 cups of sauce.
