Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries (Note 1), hulled and cleaned
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar or lemon juice
  • Pinch salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  2. Chop the strawberries in half if they're small, or quarters if they're large.

  3. Place the strawberries into a medium baking dish and add the remaining ingredients. Stir until everything is well combined.

  4. Roast the strawberries for about 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes or so. They're done when they're very soft and the liquid is bubbly.

  5. Place the baking dish on a cooling rack and let the berries cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools.

  6. Serve or store for later.

Recipe Notes
