Spicy Cranberry Apple Sauce

This spicy cranberry apple sauce is made with fresh cranberries, apple chunks, cider, and gets a mild kick from fresh jalapeño.

Ingredients
  • 12 oz. fresh cranberries
  • 1 granny smith apple peeled and diced
  • 1 fresh jalapeño pepper with or without seeds (see note), finely diced
  • 1 ½ cups apple cider
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • tsp. salt
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in medium saucepan and stir a few times to blend.
  2. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Lower heat and allow to simmer, stirring frequently, until most of the berries have burst and liquid is thick and syrupy, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Allow to cool before serving.
Recipe Notes

Including the seeds with significantly increase the heat level of your cranberry sauce.
