First, take a look at the package that your hazelnuts came in to see if they are roasted. If they aren't, you will need to do that yourself. To roast, preheat oven to 350.
-
Arrange nuts in a single layer on baking sheet. Roast for about 5 minutes, or until the skins begin to split and come off.
-
Remove from oven and allow to cool. Take a handful at a time, rub hazelnuts vigorously together with your hands or between a couple of paper towels to remove the skins. When skins are nearly (or perfectly, if you insist) completely removed, you're ready to move on.

Now place everything in a food processor bowl and blend until smooth. You might need to take a few minutes for blending, depending on the power of your food processor, but not to worry, you will eventually get a creamy, deliciously smooth, chocolate hazelnut butter.
